About Happy Tails

Training Services: We are excited that Michael Kim Steacy of Grey Wolf Farm is joining our team to bring professional dog training to Happy Tails Dog Ranch. Do you wish your dog had better leash manners? Does she jump up on your guests? Do they get destructive when you leave the house? We can help you with all these issues and more! Training Clinics: Held here at Happy Tails Dog Ranch, these clinics are a great introduction for the new dog owner, or some expert tips for someone facing some challenges with their current dog. Read More... Packages Packages All training engagements begin with a phone call, and then an in-person interview where Michael will discuss your goals with you and get to meet your dog. There is no charge for this interview, at the end of which Michael will recommend a training plan that will meet your goals and schedule. When your training plan is completed, he will meet with you for a Transfer Session to review the progress made, and to teach you how to reinforce the behaviors you want to see in your dog going forward. Most training will be conducted outside of our play times (except training that involves socialization activities), but even if we conduct training during playtime, every dog will still get a minimum of 3 hours of play time that day. To be the most effective, training needs to happen at your dog’s pace. This may translate into several short training sessions rather than one long session which may over extend your dog’s ability to absorb all that is going on. By having your dog at the ranch all day, these sessions can be customized to just as long and as frequent as best suits your dog. Regular prices for dog training typically range from $45 to $79 an hour. Whether this happens in your home, or at your trainer’s facility, this also means that you need to be available to meet with your trainer. By taking advantage of training in conjunction with daycare or boarding, you can bring your dog in the morning, and pick him or her up at the end of the day, knowing that they not only had a fun day but also had a chance to learn as well.
